The Tropical Fruit collection is an ode to the exuberance and details of nature in its purest state. Kiwi, Dragon Fruit, Passion Fruit, Papaya, Annona, Coconut and Avocado have been recreated using various hand techniques that give colors, textures and reliefs so real that we feel we are in the middle of the rainforest.

“To reproduce characteristics such as seeds and texture, the fruit was used at different stages of the process. Textures, for example, were reproduced from the fruit after drying, which was used to mold the clay. Several traditional tools and different ancestral techniques were used in this process. The whole process was very challenging and time-consuming, culminating in a very rich and eclectic aesthetic and technical line, where manual operations clearly stand out.” says Bordallo Pinheiro’s coordinating designer, Francisco Vieira Martins, about the creative process and complex production steps.
